Business
nVent Electric plc designs, manufactures, markets, installs and services electrical connection and protection solutions worldwide. The company operates primarily in two segments, Enclosures and Electrical & Fastening Solutions, providing products such as enclosures for industrial automation, commercial buildings, data centers and infrastructure; electrical connections including cable management, grounding, bonding, lightning protection and low voltage power distribution under the nVent ERICO brand; and fastening solutions with labor-saving installation features. Additional offerings encompass thermal management solutions like heat tracing for pipes and vessels, enclosure cooling, floor heating, snow melting and fire-rated wiring under the nVent RAYCHEM brand, alongside innovative data center products including liquid cooling systems, intelligent power distribution units and FleXbus connection solutions for energy storage and renewables. nVent serves industrial, commercial, residential, infrastructure, energy, power utilities and data center markets across global regions with a workforce of over 10,000 employees. Founded through a spin-off from Pentair plc in 2018 with roots tracing to 1903, nVent maintains tax residency and central management in the United Kingdom with principal executive offices in London and operational headquarters in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA. Recent developments include the completion of its $975 million acquisition of the Electrical Products Group from Avail Infrastructure Solutions in May 2025, enhancing enclosures, switchgear and bus systems for power utilities, data centers and renewables; the divestiture of its Thermal Management business in January 2025 to focus on higher-growth electrical segments; expansion of data center manufacturing capacity through a new 117,000 square foot facility lease in Blaine, Minnesota, slated for early 2026 operations with over 175 jobs, following prior expansions in Anoka and Eleanor, West Virginia; the acquisition of Trachte in July 2024 to bolster control buildings; and the appointment of Diane Leopold to its board in July 2025 to support infrastructure growth.
